As an interior designer within the hospitality architecture group, I was responsible for project management in addition to design implementation for Marriott select service brand renovations, specifically 32 American properties within the ING investment portfolio. My role functioned as a managing production architect coordinating with the client and engineers, producing a complete construction set of plan drawings including demolition, construction, furniture, reflected ceiling, as well as elevations, details and FF&E specifications as needed, to meet the exacting standards laid out by Marriott. As the project manager, I was responsible for scope of work, room matrix, schematics, budget, existing site documentation, inclusivity/disability studies, permitting and overall schedule related to the need of each property. My work was reviewed, signed and sealed by a supervising licensed architect.

Marriott renovated on a 6 year cycle. Areas could include some or all of the following depending on deferred maintenance: gatehouse; back of house; guest rooms; guest kitchens; guest bathrooms; casegoods; softgoods; and outdoor experiences. It was necessary to find creative solutions to implement the design guidelines on existing properties that were not currently flying the Marriott flag.
